What seasonal, recreational activities to do in the Kootenay region
Beaver Falls is blessed with an abundance of natural settings and activities in Kootenay.
Music Festivals, Food Festivals (check out the local Garlic festival for some aromatic indulgence) , Arts, Hiking. Biking, Fishing, Skiing, Sledding…the list goes on and on! We share a few major and less know things to do in and around our motel.
If you have a special activity and don’t see it drop up us a line and we will ask for leads from the locals, the area residents are keen to share the splendor that surrounds.
Surrounded by a bevy of creeks, rivers and lakes, we are localized in a hot spot for the fishing enthusiast. Erie Lake, renowned for its Largemouth Bass & ice fishing, is located nearby the motel. The three Champion Lakes, located 24 minutes from the motel provided a serene and beautiful environment while also providing five species of stocked trout fishing. Other fish found within the three lakes include Burbot, Whitefish, Northern Pike, Walleye and Yellow Perch.
One of our favorite hot summer’s day activities is to float down the Slocan River. Ask us about how you can spend a summer’s day floating your worries away on the pristine warm waters of the Slocan River. We have premium float loungers and a floating portable bbq available to guests for a small fee. Depending on time of year and entry points floats last on average 2-4 hrs, transit to and from Slocan River not included.
